Yes it can make a big difference, i have all of my print setting set to Vector.

In the attached examples, the top "Block" is a Drafting pattern, the bottom "Block" is a Model Pattern. you don't start seeing the model pattern until i hit about 1/4"-1'. because of the scale of the pattern, i never got the drafting pattern to print properly. it only started to print after i adjust the scale.

is the metal grate a Drafting patter or a Model pattern? is it drawn to scale for the actual metal grate?

adjust the scale of he pattern. certain patterns will not print at smaller scales, they will either show as a black block or just now show at all.

Check to see if you are printer vector or raster. IT will make a difference in the look or your printed sheets.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2016/ENU/Revit-DocumentPresent/files/GUID-EDEA2E5D-6094-4B9D-A4E7-43C95A3E0615-htm.html

try plotting a sheet using both and you will really notice the difference.
