hi.

I've exported a drawing from Revit to Autocad. the dimensión lines and text have a 0,09 thickness in their layers. if I plt with monochrome style the result is the following.

if I publish a pdf direct from Revit, the results are the next:

is there any way to make the thicness of the lines match between them?

the options I have used to plot in autocad are showed below.

what font are you using in Revit for your dimensions? it looks like it is exporting to a SHX font (RomanS?). check your export settings, fonts tab and see what it is defaulting to. id recommend a TTF if possible, Arial for example, but any TTF font should export decently.

Yes we are.
Our dimensión (requeriment from our client) is the use of RomanS.
The problema is that the layer is generated by Revit with 0,09mm thickness.
We got our CTB which indicates the thickness of this layer as 0,25mm wich is enough but the resulto f the drawing shows the thickness as 0,09mm...

well this is more of an Autocad question than a Revit one, but.....

in the DWG, select the text and make sure the Line Weight is set to ByLayer. i prefer to have all 3 of these set to by layer.

Next, are you using CTB or STB?

if your using CTB you can edit the color line weight in the upper right cornier in the plot style table. you can set the color being used for the test to Use Object Weight or assign it a lineweight as desired.

Also, in the Plot Options, make sure Plot with Plot styles and Plot Object Line weights is selected.

yes, I think this question seems to be more autocad tan Revit. but my problem is how to change the lineweight (index?) on Revit for my dimension text. Revit always export my text with 0,09mm and I can't find how to change it. because I couldn't change it, I decide to fix it throug CTB.. but there is no way to fix it.
I vill check your proposition

not sure where that would be done in Revit, possibly the Line Weights option (Manage > Additional settings > LineWeights)? i usually fix that kind of stuff in Autocad with a script file that i run on exported DWF's.

no chance in talking your client into using a standard TTF :-). we have actually had some success with that. luckily fewer and fewer clients are asking for DWG's lately.

its not that revit doesn't give you the option it has to do with the fact that revit uses a completely different set of fonts than autocad. revit uses windows fonts which are not the same as autocad.

how closely does your client look at the autocad files from revit? if they are just happy to get the dwg and it matches their standards I would be tempted to find a different font that is very similar to RomanS. if they do check then this will not work of course.

just curious, when you export, do you specify Text & Font for Revit and Autocad in the export table? you can tell Revit when exporting exactly what font to use instead of letting it "Automaticly" figure it out (i don't trust the automatic option 🙂 ).

I.E. if it its Arial in Revit export it to RomanS in the dwg.

https://autode.sk/2x7CTOP

Let me guess: you are using Adobe Acrobat DC (or Reader DC) to view PDFs? That's just an unfortunate side effect of SHX files in that viewer: you'll need to fix the Acrobat display settings, or use another PDF viewer, or stop using SHX.

And as noted by others, you'll need to fix the thickness issue in AutoCAD after you export to it.

HTH
