Any chance you can share your dynamo script so I can check where i do it wrong?

Did you add specific parameters to the material that match the database?

Or if you have any other tips on how to calculate gwp directly in revit that would also be great - it seems revit is not made for this yet 🙂

Thanks in advance!

/Maja

Adding customizable Assets tab on materials.

I am currently working on trying to find a solution to automatize the take-off of added LCA parameters in Revit.

My problem is that I can't assign for example the GWP value to a specific material ( as an example for Concrete C30/37, the GWP value is 218.34 [kg CO2 equiv. /m³], but it is not possible to add such a property to the material itself. The five Asset tabs are not customizable. I tried to create parameters that are then linked to the families or types, but if we have a floor, as an example, with multiple layers (with multiple materials, for example, concrete C30/37 and a bitumen layer), it is impossible to link the wanted value to the floor. In fact, only the Concrete GWP value will be linked to the floor, but the bitumen has also a value that must be considered.

Is there any solution? Maybe there is an addon that exists which enables you to add an Asset tab to a material? (I have looked it up, but didn't find any)

It would really simplify the Life Cycle Assessment of buildings if this was incorporated.

You can add (shared) project parameters to your materials. These can then be scheduled

Thank you very much, this helped me a lot! Do you maybe know if it possible to link externe data to Revit? I mean if I have a list with all the materials and the corresponding values for the shared parameter, would it be possible to link it directly to Revit to get the values instead of incorporating them manually one after the other?

No, in Revit in general everything is included in the project itself. What you might consider is to have all your needed materials inside your project template, meainng you would only need to enter the data once.

As alternative you could look at Dynamo and build a script to help you with automation of transfer of data from external source (e.g csv, excel) to Revit

Hi All!

I am dealing with the same issue now and I did the script in Dynamo to transfer all the Material from Ökobaudaten Database.. works well but i am having issues with a small thing, maybe you know already how to solve it.

The thing is that the value of ODP Ozone Depletion Potential sometimes is like 4,167E-10 and I create a parameter type number that is not representing that 4,167E-10, do you have any experiences with that?

Thanks 🙂
