Wall foundation cover thickness setting are wacked?

Hi All,

I've been using Revit (architecture) for 10 years but decided to learn how to use the rebar tools to draw a simple concrete retaining wall design. The wall foundation family appears to assign the incorrect faces to the rebar cover properties.

You can see in the footing below, the cover thickness for top and bottom are actually assigned to the sides of the footing and both the top and the bottom are assigned to "other faces". The result is that I can't assign a different cover thickness for top and bottom.

Is it possible I did something to wack these settings? I'm using ver. 2019 fully updated.

id check your foundation family. when i use similar settings with a standard wall foundation it works fine.

Wow. Thanks. That helped point me in the right direction. It turns out that there's one thing I forgot to mention, my retaining wall is curved. There appears to be a bug that causes the footing cover thickness to be incorrect if the host foundation wall is curved. I hope not too many hi-rises use curved footings!

I'm going to have to fake my rebar 😞

Interesting, I did not know that either. I have seen cases in my office where staff have tried editing a family and messed stuff like that up though :-). did you find any documentation on the bug that you can provide a link to?

I found no documentation from Autodesk. I've posted to this thread a screencast demonstrating the issue. Sorry about the low level audio!

They finally showed up in both posts. It's not that the the screencast wasn't finished processing because I recorded it yesterday. Slow internet I guess.
