Changing wall height does not change wall height

I am building a parking garage and have run into a problem. The is the first opportunity I have had to actually use Revit, so my initial approach has been more intuitive: I layout the structure with the knowledge I an change it later. Or so I thought.

It appears that the Sub Level walls, while appearing to change in the browser, do not actually change. They remain at the same height no matter what I try.

Below is a screen shot of the area with the browser set on one of the walls. Hopefully that makes sense. I just need to understand what I did wrong, and how to correct it!

What have you already tried to change the height? Did you change the base or top constraint in the properties of the wall?

I have tried both with no change. I have even tried manually pulling the wall down, too. While it may not be as obvious, the wall goes up almost halfway through the ground level plan.

have you try to pick the wall and detach top/base > select object attached to? thanks

it looks like you have the top constraint set to a level. if you are looking to extend the wall above the top constraint, if you set the Top Offset does it adjust?

@hmunsell : Based on how I interpret the help/tutorial, I had set the base to the Sub Level, and, thinking this is what it wanted, set the top constraint to the Ground Level. Somewhere along the try-this-and-see-what-happens, I added the height (might have been offset) which appeared to double the height (to no one's surprise except me!). I got the "unconnected" height out, which the program liked, but it still appears to be extending upward past the bottom of the Ground Level ot what appears to be halfway into the Ground Level wall. Not exactly what I had in mind!

I'm gong to attempt to up load a copy of the project...as soon as I figured that out! 😉

Hello @Linvillem

Complementing with what it says @ennujozlagam

Select the wall and press Detach Top/Base, now on the left side appears the option Detach All, it should work.

@Jamhmer_Oc That seems to have don the trick! Thank you for that! Since I'm still going through the documentation while working on a project (as we have all done). what should I be reading to understand walls better?

@ennujozlagam Thanks for your suggestion! I'm working at home today and it's hard to clearly see your solution. Sine I have a copy of the project when I get back in the office I'm going to go though your example so I have as many tools in my toolbox as possible!
