Hello,

I am trying to rotate the linked Revit model in South or North elevation. But it is not working. Rotate option can be enabled but rotation of linked model in south elevation is not reflecting.

Kindly let me know how to do that ?

Regards

I'm not sure of the best way to put it, there's a couple of things to realize:

- Lots of model elements are directly related to levels. E.g. a column is defined by a point in the plan, a level + top and base height. Revit knows that its axis is perpendicular to the level so that is sufficient information to uniquely define the geometry.

- Levels have to be, well, level, i.e. horizontal planes defined by a single Z coordinate. Rotating in an elevation would violate that rule.

I didn't try with every kind of element but there is actually stuff that you can rotate in an elevation view, like detail components or even section planes. With most model elements, however, and with linked models, this is not possible imo.

Why do you even need that? Are you expecting the force of gravity to change direction anytime soon?

You can only rotate a link on plan, not elevation. As for elements modeled directly in your file, you may or may not be able to rotate them on elevation, depends on how they are created. What exactly are you trying to rotate?

I'm interested in knowing why are you needing to rotate a link in elevation? was the original modeled incorrectly, is the building going down a hill?

So I followed the above steps.

Regards
