What is the fastest way to create void area on the existing slab?

Dear all,

If let say drawing is revised, there is a additional void area on the existing slab (refer to the attachment). What is the fastest way to create the void on it instead of delete the existing slab and redo?

There are vertical opening tool and shaft tool but they aren't very suitable to create new opening in existing floor (the opening will show in existing phase). I would create a floor based family with a cut opening and place it on the floor then you can phase it properly. Another way is to have two floors, one with a hole is set to eemain, one is the infill in the hole and set it to be demolished.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Could you pls provide some tutorial video or step about how to create a floor with opening at the middle or internal?

If you want to create a new opening in an existing floor, meaning the opening only shows in the new phase:

- set your view to Existing

- edit the existing floor boundary and draw the opening, finish then you have a floor with a hole

- create an other floor of the same type and draw its boundary exactly where the opening is, finish, set this floor to be demolished in the new phase

If you just want an opening in a floor, no phasing, then just use Vertical Opening tool or Shaft tool and draw the opening.
