I've figured-out by chance that to apply a coupler at a particular end, you need to zoom-in on a 3d view to that particular rebar end, then the coupler is applied to that end. I've applied this method several times today so I don't think it's a coincidence. So problem solved.

Hi,

I can't seem to insert the rebar couplers to the rebar end I want. In some instances the couplers have automatically inserted to the end I want, however when they've been inserted at the opposite rebar end I can't figure out a way to change it. Due to the geometry it's not possible to rotate the rebar 180deg. I would think it's a simple solution??

I think it's something to do with the below.

Thanks.

As far as i know the End Treatment options are greyed out when an End Treatment is applied like a coupler, so i think that the other end of the rebar is provided with something.

Hi @Joe_Hughes

Like hooks, the end treatments applied to couplers can be set to define the rebar shape.

This is done by selecting the option to include hooks or ET in the rebar shape definition

https://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-D893035B-FA99-41E6-B024-EFBB31C22F0E

To not duplicate shapes, Revit can flip (internally) a rebar shape, replacing start with end and vice-versa. This prevents the duplication of a shape, only to have the hook or ET assigned to the other end.

The ET are greyed out when you have a coupler applying those ET. You can also manually set an ET for a bar, but the same rules apply (starting with Revit 2021).

The straight bar is flipped internally regardless of that setting, so that the schedule doesn't show the same shape, but different ET at start and end.
