If you have drawn a angled object and want it to rest on the angle or line of the angle just change the z/y and you will find it can either rest on top of your line or below it or even in the center

I am drawing open web steel joist on revit 2023, which start at the roof level, from a beam at -106.6 at the start and the end point .the joist then goes to a beam whose staring point is -101.6 and whose endpoint is -380.6. How do you modify the automatic preferences so that my joist snaps to the angled beam automatically?

Thanks so much

Try using "beam system" and create a reference plane of the same angle of the beam.

The teacher has one beam whose starting point and whose endpoint are at -101.6. The other beam starts at -101.6 and ends at 380.6. So the second beam is at an angle to allow the slope for a roof drain. The OWSJ are supported by those two beams. When the teacher drew the OWSJ she was on the roof plan, she just assigned the distance, the starting point and then the end point of the OWSJ and the joist automatically lowered itself on one side to come rest on the uneven beam.

My revit doesn't do that and I think it<s something in the options because when I hover over the end point of my joist, the snap option shows Vertival and extention. I think it should be Vertical and nearest...

Can you help me?

Have you tried using the Y justification etc ? This may help if you want to bring down your object or even a simple offset value

First create a reference plane of the angle of the roof you have. Then create a beam system and select that plane you create of the angle. if you want you can first create eq dimension on where you want the joists to be.
