Hi, we are working on Tekla software daily basis. We need to provide to the client model in revit format. That is why we create ifc model from Tekla and then we have licence of Revit and we import there our ifc model. Unfortunately we have problem with duplicate element in Revit model. Is anyone know what can be a reason ?

This issue was raised before: (copied from Autodesk Knowledge Network)

Issue:
User reported that opening/binding IFC from Tekla in Revit creates duplication of elements, data loss and wrong property representation.

Status:

No issue has been identified and the software is behaving as designed.

Workaround:

The Link IFC workflow is intended specifically for that - to reference external data. It is not intended for bringing data into Revit to be incorporated into the project. That is more for Open IFC, but really the data should stay where it was created, and just referenced.

IFC data can be grouped. For example, a structural wall can be divided into parts, or a stair can be composed of stair runs and landings. What we currently do is import the parts with their properties, and then import the container with all of the geometry of the parts with the container properties. This allows us to control visibility for the container vs. the parts, at the cost of duplicate entities.
