Rebar schedule

Hey,

Im trying to create rebar schedule but its not working as I imaganed...

I have created main vertical bars by sketching free form and coping them because I dont know how to make transition to next level... Making them shape driven is breaking transition everytime. Ive realized too later that I can create hooks from properties but I still cant find a way to make transition between levels like this:

Do you have any idea how can I do it?

Also when I create rebar schedule its not grouping all identical elements... They are all with same specs(Ive copied everything) but shown as different bars.

Its probably because Ive created them as free form sketch but identical items(spacing, form, lenght) like this are also splitted:

Hi @apdim

You can sketch the bars using shape driven as well, to ensure the transition to the next level. You just have to be careful that you don't drag one of the segments in the crank

Regarding free form, you can switch the Workshop Instructions to Bend (instead of Keep Straight). This will match each bar to a rebar shape in the project, or create a new rebar shape if one doesn't exist.

This will also number the bars in a more accurate way.

In the schedule you can sort by rebar number, uncheck itemize and, in the formatting tab, choose calculate totals for quantity and total bar length. This ensures that the bars that are grouped on the same row (by rebar number) will report the total number of bars.

@ovidiu_paunescu I have fixed this with sorting, thanks. But I didnt get about that with transition. Is there any video?

I don't know of a video for this, but what you can do is sketch the rebar, with the angle or slope you want for the crank.

This will create a new shape which you can rename.

If you edit the rebar shape family, you should see something like this.

Please note that the crank is in the bar plane.

You can also edit the bar constraint, and constrain that segment to the bar it overlaps
