Assign title block label to sheet property to show property value

Hello,

I am trying to set up a label on a title block so that the label will have the value of a sheet property. This is for a project with more than one building, so in revit, I have changed the sheet organization so that each set of sheets is labeled under the permit # and building name. For example, I have these two buildings Spa & Fitness and Office Building.

I categorized these by adding a sheet parameter Called Building and creating different types such as Office Building.

I want the label in the title block family to pull this value so that it will updated to the appropriate building name for each sheet. My alternative here is to make a title block for each building and insert a label that I can manually change and then just manually change the name for each building. Does anyone know if this is possible? The label seems to only work with category parameters.

Make the parameter you are using for the building name a shared parameter. Then, you can add the shared parameter to the project and the title block and the title block will update if the value changes.

Would I have to make a new parameter? The building parameter is assigned as a project parameter, but it seems I cannot change it to aa shared parameter.

Yes, you would have to create a new parameter and make it a shared parameter. With it as a shared parameter, you can add it both as a project parameter and a parameter into the title block.

Is this the only way to do this? The revit template uses a shared parameters text file used by my colleagues company wide. I do not have administrative permissions to make changes.

The best way is with shared parameters. I would ask one of your fellow colleagues to add the parameter, or you can go rogue and create your own shared parameter file solely to add the parameters. You would have to remap the project shared parameter temporally to your shared parameter file and then add the parameter. After adding the parameter, you can remap back to the correct shared parameter file. Another solution would involve Dynamo to copy information from one parameter to another.
