What are your favorite workflows when working in Revit? What are your least favorite workflows? What is your favorite trade to draw in Revit?

1. Automatic distribution of airflows for air terminals in spaces.

2. Shared Parameters/Formula injection so that families cooperate with our compliance schedules. Also, anything and everything involving gravity drainage.

3. Mechanical. Lego blocks are great.

My favorite workflows in Revit are anything that’s highly repeatable and rule‑based, where I can really leverage views, templates, and automation. I like setting up smart view templates, filters, and standardized families so that once the system is in place, documentation becomes very fast and consistent. I also really enjoy using schedules and tags to drive data‑rich models and reduce manual coordination.

My least favorite workflows are the ones that feel click‑heavy and fragile, like dealing with complex view visibility issues, messy linked models, or overly customized graphic overrides that are hard to track. I’m also not a fan of workflows where the model is poorly organized and I spend more time fixing standards than actually designing or documenting.

My favorite trade to model/draw in Revit is architecture / interiors (or adjust to your real preference), because I like the combination of geometry, presentation, and data—everything from walls and doors to casework, room data, and sheets comes together in a very satisfying way.
