How do I remove demolished equipment (and the systems associated with it) from System Browser? I dont want demolished equipment to be displayed in the Pipe Pressure Loss report which is based upon systems.

Previously (prior to 2023) demolished items lost their system settings.

People complained about that because it affected the graphical colours when using system graphics overrides so ADSK changed the behaviour so that when demolished items remained connected and retained their system information.

You will need to disconnect the items from the system as well as demolishing them, then you probably need to divide the system as well.

This post sort of explains the problem and part 24 is sort of (but not exactly) relevant.

So it seems I was hoping there was a solution, but it seems I'm in workaround territory again here. Thank you @iainsavage and you're right in that it's the same underlying data structure causing both topics. I do prefer that the 'new' behavior does not break the systems, and I'm probably even one of the people who asked for that, but I guess this was an unintended consequence.

For those wondering the same thing as my OP, here's the best I found: because we draft demo in a different view than new, Revit seems to do a good job sorting those into separate logical systems, and by selecting the items within the System in System browser (not the system itself) you can investigate their properties to know which systems are collected demoed content vs which systems are collecting new work content, then I simply rename the system to 'New_<system name>' so that when I see that system name in other places (pipe pressure report, schedules, etc) it's obvious what it is.
