Pipe T-piece reducer marked on slope (at slope off)

Good afternoon,

I have a problem drawing a different diameter from a T-piece. If I were to draw a T-piece from 110 to 75, it creates a slope (you can see it on the photo). The slope is turned off. I have also tried with other pipe types, but that doesn't work either. Do you have any experience solving this? That would be fantastic.
I suspect the problem lies with some settings. If I start another project, it works fine.

This is a project I have to take over...

It looks like you have an eccentric reducer and its upside down?

It should be rotated so that the pipe has a level invert.

You maybe also want to look at your placement option for the pipe elevation:

I tried this, but that doesn't work either. The tube doesn't stay connected properly either.

It seems very strange. When I start a new project, it goes well; I suspect the problem stems from switching the piping.

It seems to work okay for me.

When you first draw the smaller bore pipe the reducer is concentric by default.

If you then change the reducer to eccentric via the tick box in the tee family, the pipe elevation adjusts accordingly, with no slope.

If, for any reason, you want the branch to be level on top instead of level invert you can flip the eccentric reducer, again using the tick box in the tee family:

So, as far as I can see the family works okay.

Hello @ion_goteseanu,

The Problem you show in the screenshot is with the Reducer Revit family not with the Revit tee family because the T-Piece doesnt allow for different dimensions between DN1 and DN3. Probably best to contact trimble for your problem.

Yes it does.

The reducer is a component part of the tee family.

Hello @iainsavage

I understand what you mean, but look at the first picture he has a problem with the 3rd connection not the 2nd.
In your picture you show the reducer for the 2nd connection which is there yes and it works. The 3rd connection reducers however is not build in the Revit family.

In the family this is the third connection, controlled by R3 Connector parameter. Also conventionally the branch is designated as connector 3 (or C) on tee fittings. Hence my confusion about your statement.

You are correct that R2 Connector = R1 Connector via a formula in the family, but actually R2 Connector is not used and both of the straight through connectors use R1 Connector to determine the size. So yes Revit will insert a reducer at the connection.

In the tee fitting family you can select the nested reducer and edit it. Make it Shared and reload it into the tee family and the project.

You can now set this reducer as the default in the pipe's routing preferences.

When you then reduce the pipe size on the straight run the reducer in the straight downstream connector (what I would call connector 2) will behave in the same way as the one which inserts into the branch (connector 3).
