Specialty equipment not shown on floor plan

I have place a garbage grinder in the mode, but it is not shown on floor plan, and the color is light in section view. I have a template for Plumbing, and the visibility is on in the templates, is there anything overwrite here?

Actually I found that the equipment is shown on the plan, but because somehow there is some setting to it, it is covered by the linked model, which is set to be underlayed.

It is shown when move out of any furniture, but light color.

But it can't be seen, when under the sink.

It will be classified as underlay due to the Plumbing view discipline.

You can change the underlay/halftone settings but these affect all views in the whole project so its something which you should carefully consider before changing:

Or you could use a different category for the equipment family.

if you're in a "Plumbing model" and your view is set to Plumbing or Mechanical, its probably the category of the family. You can edit family and select the icon with the manila envelope in the upper left corner and change the category to Mechanical or Plumbing Equipment.

then pick Load to Project from the Ribbon.

Personally I would have actually nested the macerator into the sink family (Plumbing Fixture) since it is, in real life, an accessory fitted to the sink.

That way your Fixture Units or Flows will also work properly in the pipe network.

My choice would be to set it to Plumbing Equipment, since it is purchased separately from the sink and is a powered piece of equipment that should be coordinated with Electrical

Yes you could do that but I tend to look at it as Plumbing Fixtures are the terminal equipment, Plumbing Equipment (which was only recently added to the available categories) is main equipment such as water heaters, storage tanks etc.

But do whatever works for your requirements.

For @c_liuKKMVV 's benefit, in terms of your initial query, different categories are treated as "underlay" items in different view classifications which is what was causing your initial visibility problems. Changing the family to a MEP classification removed the underlay setting when in a MEP discipline view.
