I have been working through revit tutorials to get up to speed with ductwork and mechanical engineering. I started the course "building-mechanical-design-ductwork-and-pipework" and instantly ran into the issue that my computer does not have any of the support files such as "001-Small Medical Center-Modify Slope.rvt" and I cannot find a link to download it. If anyone has some form of link or file to where to download these please let me know.

I don't know that tutorial, but I suspect wherever that tutorial came from is the source of the files listed?

I don't like using those tutorial files since it robs me of the opportunity to get to the point were that sample file was created. in real life, no one prepares a file like that for you. When I used such tutorials as a beginner, I created similar situations in my real life projects. Sometimes there also is a disconnect between the tutorial and the file and you end up having to improvise anyway (like in real life!).

I assume that specific tutorial shows you how to adjust a slope. and a tutorial before that, will show you how to create that duct to begin with. just create the same situation and follow the tutorial.

The same is true for videos or other sources not part of an official tutorial. They show you how to do a specific thing, but expect you to implement it in YOUR situation.

IMHO, after getting an overview, it is better to just start a project and research whatever you need in a specific situation. For HVAC, knowing how flow/connectors and setting up routing preferences are important.

Edit: here a famous document about connectors:

https://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/files/me204-3_connectors_in_revit_mep_content.pdf

ok thanks that sounds like a good idea, ive been watching videos to get it iced but i think if nobody else can find the sample files then you are correct and im probably just gonna do it manually

You should look around at the source of the tutorial and/or ask questions as to where to get the materials. If you don't, you may end up with a mess.
