I believe I know the answer to my own question. Which is, it can't be done. But, I really hope someone has an idea to get around it. So, on our light fixtures. We have the primary connector circuited to the power panel. The secondary connector circuited to a relay panel. I need to get both the circuit numbers for the primary and the secondary connectors in a tag. I can get the primary circuit number in easy enough. But, no idea how to go about getting the secondary circuit number in the same tag... or any tag for that matter. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks,

This is an issue in Revit. Only the primary circuit will show up in a tag. The workaround is to draw a small piece of wire from the secondary connection and tag the wire. This wire tag will show the circuit of the secondary connector.

I've seen this workaround since like 2010. I wonder if they will get a fix on it sometime. Thanks for the info. though.

I have another circuiting issue if you have any ideas. Our Lighting Control designers now want us to show; panel name, panel supplied from and the circuits from that panel. On a tag. I can get the panel name and supply from. But, the circuit from the supply. Seems close to impossible.????

My first thought was along the same lines. Turn off the wires in VG. It hide the tag as well. We try and stay away from hiding things in views. We have had some serious issues with this in the past. But, a possible option.

Another option would be to create a new wire type, make a filter for that wire type name, and override the color to white. This still could have setbacks if the white wire crosses another object, but it's another possibility.

Hello Timmy,

Create a family with, lets say some lines, so you can select it, and place a conector in the workplane, nest it to another family, but it is very important to mark the parameter SHARED.

When you place the host family, place the cursor over the linework and press TAB until you select the nested family, check in the status bar.

Then you will get the option to create a circuit.

Good luck!

Here's a family I 'frankensteined' together. It contains two small quarter-sized families at the top of the rack. They are nested electrical devices. When loaded into a project, you can TAB-SELECT the individual connectors and circuit them individually, but still link the parameters to other electrical data - such as VA.
