Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the community!

It is quite an odd case. The only time when Revit will "Automatically Connect" additional elements to a circuit is when:

You had them previously circuited/wired together, then disconnected them and completely removed the circuit.

Then, as you add/join one of those elements, nothing would happen yet, but as soon as you add a second disconnected element which was previously on the same circuit as the first element, Revit automatically connects all of the elements which was previously part of the same circuit.

The reason this happens is due to Revit "trying to anticipate" the circuit or elements to be connected to the new/existing circuit.

BUT, your case is different. I would not mind to investigate it further for you if you could possibly share the problematic area of the model or even only the electrical elements.

I tried adding a single element, socket, to an existing circuit, but by doing so revit added 24 elements to that circuit. These 24 elemens are in no way connected to the socket I tied connecting, also, some of these elements are already part od other circuits. I cant find any reason why this would happen, these mentioned elements arent part of a group or selection. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Thank you for taking time to answer. Is there a way to prevent this? I'll see about sending you problematic elements when I get to work. Thanks again.

Hello,

Another possibility is if the sockets are connected to each other through conduits, in this case remove a bend, for example and change the circuit, then using trim, recreate the fitting.

I am also running into the exact same issue being described here. Very frustrating as I have to remove all the additional receptacles from the circuit everytime. I do not have any conduits in this model as of yet so has nothing to do with that.

Anyone find an easy solution?

From what I remember we had wires connecting the elements, but they were hidden in view. Check for that first

This can also happen if someone has placed wire on them in another view. Just having wire connecting them will "group" them and they will select as a group. Check all views pertaining to that area and look for wires. Delete wires in other views and remove the elements from the circuit/panel. Go to the correct view and they will circuit appropriately.
