Error - Deleted in Central Model

I have an object (pipe fitting) in my model that can not be edited. Whenever I try, I get an error saying "Can't edit the element. It was deleted in the Central Model." I have been the only one working in the model and synching makes no difference. Any ideas?

I've never had this problem in 2016, but in 2014 it would happen occasionally.

The way I "fixed" it (couldn't make it stop doing it, but I could fix the individual occurrences) was to open the central model itself, sync, and close the central model. Then when I pulled a new local model the problem was gone.

Never found the cause of the problem, but at least you can still work on your model.

Thank you. I am working in a cloud and am unable to change/save the Central Model.

How do you do central model maintenance on a cloud-based project?

Not sure, this is my first cloud based project. Guess I'll have to talk to Arch who set it up.

Has there been any resolution to this issue? I've ran into this same problem a few times on two different BIM 360 projects. I get the error "Can't edit the element. It was deleted in the Central Model" when I try to delete or change the fitting type. However, I can still draw pipe and connect to pipe from the fitting!?

A work around is to HIDE IN VIEW, but this is a PITA when working on the CLOUD and other disciplines are using my model for coordination purposes.

Currently working in REVIT 2018. Thanks in advance for the help.

Not sure about a resolution as I am unaware of the cause, but I've run into this a few times on a cloud project that I am currently working on.

The only way we have found to fix this is to download the central model, detach from central and audit locally, delete the model from the cloud, and then re-collaborate with the cloud project. Any models that are linking to it must be "reloaded from" after re-uploading to the cloud.

I just came across this issue and found this string while I was troubleshooting. The fix that did it for me was to sync [not sure if it is necessary, but I did] and then select the object in question. The toggle button that looks like 3 cubes should appear. Click that in order to "Make Element Editable." After that, I was able to delete the object.
