No, this did not solve my issue.

All of the check boxes are turned on within 2017 Revit/Options/User Interface.

At this point I'm assuming Autodesk chose to specifically remove this tool from the add-ins to allow developers to create the same tool and charge additional money for the software.

Hello,

I've been searching all morning and I don't think I'm going to like the answer to my question but here we go:

Revit 2016 has the revit extension for "shared parameters converter" to easily migrate batches of parameters from one family file to another.

Where can I find this in Revit 2017?

Thanks.

Hello,

The install of the extension is available in the upgrades in your account management, I am not sure if it is available in the Desktop Application Manager.

Fabio Sato,

Can you indicate which extension this may be and where the button is located to access this add-in after it's installed?

I ask because I believe I have it installed already, but the shared parameters converter is not present in Revit 2017.

The screenshot attached is the location of the converter within Revit 2016. I'm looking for 2017 and with the 2017 extensions i have installed, it's not present at the similar location as 2016.

Hello,

Unfortunately I don´t have Revit 2017 and the extensions in this machine, but I believe it must be in the same place as 2016.

Check all the interface checkboxes in the options, sometimes some commands become hidden.

Here is a good work around for Revit 2017: Convert the Shared parameters to Project Parameters. You have to do this for each parameter, but once you do that, you can apply the parameters to an entire category, like light fixture for example. Then those parameters will show up in every light fixture family you load into that project.

You can do this in the project template, so you create the project parameters once, and never again. Or you can use the transfer project standards to copy the project parameters from project to project.

With the shared parameters loaded into the project, on the manage ribbon, pick project parameters, and then select "Add". Select the shared parameter radio button, then the "Select" box, and pick a shared parameter. Next, pick a category (or more than one category), like "light fixtures" and finally select OK.

Now when you load a family into the project, the parameters are automatically available in that family.

As another option, when you create a schedule, you now have the option to combine various categories in the same column. So if you have on light with a "Size" parameter, and another with a "Dimensions" parameter, you can schedule these in the same column.

The project parameter conversion is worthless to us since we use Revit as BIM software.

It appears the shared parameters converter has been removed by AutoDesk on purpose.
