How to hide architectural elements on MEP Plans

I've been working on this MEP project and the client wants the ducts below to be represented as hidden lines. I was pretty successful on this but the problem is on the linked architectural file. As you can see on the image that I've attached, the linked architectural was clearly visible on the entire plan. How will I be able to hide architectural elements that are directly below my ducts without changing my settings on the Properties Palette.(i also attached an image of my Properties Palette).

what is your Underlay set to?

try raising your cut plane to be above those Architectural elements.

are you using a floor plan view to display things installed in a ceiling plan view?

you can tab select the elements from the link and hide in view by category.

You would need to use Shaded, Consistent Colours or Realistic view settings afaik as this would stop the duct being see-through.

If you look at the top right corner the duct is hiding the toilet under it and the Hidden linestyle is displaying for the thick wall under the duct.

You can change the Inner and Outer offset distance for the hidden line setting in the Settings > Mechanical options menu.

You can also apply a different linestyle if you wish to represent Hidden Lines.

MEP drawings usually do not apply hidden lines to the architectural background and I'm not even sure if it can be done at the moment.

If you truly want hidden lines represented on the background, you could try messing around with the discipline of the architectural link. You might be able to get it to work with Mechanical.

Thanks Rob. As per what I have read and learned from other discussions, MEP drawings do not apply hidden lines to architectural background. And yes, It can't be done at the moment because that's how Autodesk made it.

I can see the reason why they build it that way. Because if I'm the Mech Engineer, I would like to see the relationship between my duct(and other equipment) and the architectural model all the time.
