Door Still Visible Despite View Range Adjustments

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with Revit's View Range settings.

Even after setting the Bottom and View Depth to the same level with high positive offsets (as shown in the attached screenshot), the door still appears in the floor plan. My intention is to hide the door using the view range only — without using filters or hiding elements manually.

I expected that by raising the Bottom and View Depth offsets to 10,000 mm, the door (which is located lower) would no longer be visible in the view. However, it still shows up.

How can I hide the door using only the view range settings?

Any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing that there is some geometry in the family that extends beyond the top of the door.

That is a bizarre way of controlling visibility by setting such an extreme view range.

The big question though is what level is the door on? Is it on level 42?

Select the door and screenshot its properties and post them back here please.

I don't understand this, but the solution shouldn't be to set your view range at 10 metres above the floor.

Would it be possible to upload your files?

I'm with @iainsavage. Why or why not?

Why do you want to hide the door?

Why not use a filter or manually hide?

These are legitimate questions as to the purpose of hiding the door. It sounds like you have come up with this "solution" of using the view range to hide the door for something other than hiding the door.

Yes, I would use a filter based on the Mark or Door No, but to answer @Odwen 's question I was curious to know why the view range wasn't excluding it.

IME, view ranges can be tricky when trying to accomplish anything other than the general settings. I just was answering another question about piping outside of the view range still showing up and discovered that it is normal when trying to set the entire view range below the associated level. I would have thought that would effectively hide the pipe. It doesn't.

Thanks for replying. I guess it was my bad. I discovered that the view was set to By Linked View for the arch.

I wish to have the feature to assign different view templates for different parts of one floor plan.

You can't do that.

The simplest way to hide your door would be with a view filter as I suggested above.

If you want different view ranges for different parts of the view then you can use Plan Regions.

If you wanted different templates in different parts of the floor plan you would need to create multiple views, adjust crop regions, then stitch the views together on a sheet.
