Does Pipe Fitting Annotation Scale Work in Section Views?

I have some pipe accessory families I made.

The single line symbol functions perfectly with the "Use Annotation Scale" parameter in plan view, but in section view the single line symbol always defaults to the size of the fitting (i.e. it's larger for a 2" instance than a 1" instance).

Have I built the family incorrectly or is there a setting in the project I need to update? I have not been able to figure it out.

It should work in section views.

Upload your family for examination or post some screenshots to show you've set it up and the settings in the project.

Presumably you will have two symbols - one on the reference plane and the other on the front/back plane and you need to make sure that they are both constrained properly.

The symbolic lines in the family are constrained to the same reference planes in both the Ref. Level view and the Front Elevation view, with both sets of lines drawn on their respective Ref. Level and Center Front/Back work planes.

Here are screenshots of the same instance in plan and section view. In plan you can see the symbol is larger than the element as it extends past the connectors. In section the symbol and connectors are aligned together as the symbolic lines are drawn in the family.

Your first two screenshots don't show the constraints - if you select the lines you'll see padlock symbols if the lines are constrained to the reference planes and to each other

I don't think my lines are constrained as rigidly as your screen shot, but I'm also not sure the constraints are the issue as the symbol sizes appropriately (i.e. gets larger as the valve gets larger) in both plan and section when "Use Annotation Scale" is unchecked, for some reason it continues to have that behavior in section even if "Use Annotation Scale" is checked.

The selected line below is constrained to the reference plane and cannot be removed from it without the "Constraints are not satisfied" warning, but I'm only getting the toggle join tangency symbol. The diagonal lines are only connected at the ends of the vertical lines on each side and otherwise maintain that connection as the valve size changes. This configuration is working fine in the project in plan view currently.

Do the lines need to be model lines? I cannot figure out how you have managed to get the padlock symbols to show, mine do not show even immediately after aligning and locking my symbolic lines (at last the ones parallel to a reference plane as aligning/locking ends of a line does not appear to work for symbolic lines).

If you look at Autodesk valve families the symbols are created using model lines.

To be honest I don't know what difference this makes in terms of scaling effects.

The lock symbol that you are seeing in your family is apparently a tangential lock so presumably your lines are locked to a circle or arc (which I can't see)?

The reference planes that the lines are locked to are controlled by these formulas:

I've not used that method before.

I don't know if this is significant but this line below in your front view has no lock symbol but the one in the reference plane does.

Maybe someone else could give you pointers on this.
