I have a linked Revit background in my model with multiple phases, and it shows everything except for the most recent phase. My phase filter is set to show complete and new construction. When I set it to phase 4 it just shows all the earlier phases but not the new walls and ceiling that are part of phase 4.

You will need to look into Phase Mapping to accomplish what you want.

https://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2022/ENU/?guid=GUID-97E3F329-B78A-4854-841D-CDE2EAA1FD73

I already tried that and the only thing that comes up is existing & new construction. None of the other phases come up

send a screenshot of the phase mapping for this link? Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, you may need to add phases. But likely not.

This makes sense now. You need to set the Phase from Link to Phase 4 for New Construction.

The Phase mapping is separate from the Graphic Overrides of the linked model. You need to change the phase mapping of the Linked Element.

What is happening is that your Revit model is currently acting as if anything that happens in that linked file after New Construction does not exist. Mapping your New Construction phase to the Phases 4 phase of the linked file will make your model act as if all the phases between New Construction and Phase 4 are just one phase. Any Demo that happens on New Construction to Phase 3 will not exist from your models perspective either.

Hopefully that will fix it, but I do notice the view filters, phase filter, object styles, detail level and so on are all set by the host view.

Without knowing what the host view looks like, those settings could be hiding a lot of stuff.
