Help..!! How to delete duplicate tags of any object (Pipe/Duct)?

Hi,

I am facing a problem in my current project. Unfortunately, there have two tags for every single pipe & ducts etc. I want to keep only one tag for one object. How to remove all repeatative tags?

there is no easy solution.

select all the tags you want to delete using the CTRL key then delete them

select one tag right click select all in view delete all.

if they are 2 different tags then choose wisely

delete all tags then tag all by category and select the correct tag in the pull down options.

on the Annotate Tab find the Tag All button.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Actually your solution will take too much time & I have to do this job for my whole project with in very less time.

select and filter all tags delete them and use the TAG ALL feature takes minimal time.

it is placing the tags after initial placement that takes time.

Highlight the tag you want to delete from Browser, right click and select Select All in Project, then change the them to the type you want. Repeat for each one you want to delete. When done, you can delete the unwanted tag types/families from browser, or Purge them.

Thanks for your reply. But my query was something different. Suppose there have a pipe in a project. It has two tags and both are same family (like "32mm CWS" -this tag provided two times for that single pipe). Now you can imagine how much rework will be there for the entire project. So, to minimise the time, which method we can follow.

can you confirm there aren't actually 2 pipes (1 on top of the other)?

using a crossing window (right to left dashed border selection) select a small section of pipe look at the properties it will give you a total count of selection.

delete all Tags and use TAG ALL by category as recommended earlier.

i have already checked that. There have single element only for sure. Only tags are multiple for same pipe.

it seems that they were tagged twice the only solution here is to delete them and use the TAG ALL option or delete each instance of the duplicated tag

if it is broken and needs to be fixed time is not an issue

Alternative solution can be deleting duplicates elements with Dynamo and we are not talking only about Tags...

Thank you so much.. For your information this feature is already available in Autodesk Fabrication. There we can't provide same tag for same object twice.

That would be a different feature.

How can you delete duplicate tags if you can't create them to begin with?

Not being able to have more than one tag for an object would be an unacceptable limitation in MEP.
