Hi,

Revit quantify wire length as a length between objects in a circuit and doesn't split it because of junction box.

To have correct wire length in your project you need to create junction box as a panel and create separate circuits.

Hi everyone who can help me.

I don't know how to draw a system to quantify wire length. I have to know the distance from the general panel to a junction box, and then to different elements connected to this junction box. When I edit the run with revit 18 I only can change the general run and not the individual elements connected to junction box.

Could somebody tell me how to design it to quantify what I need?

Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous,

You can find below a detail on how the wire calculation length works.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2016/ENU/Revit-Model/files/GUID-3F15CE89-23D1-4397-95EC-12F24B6719DC-htm.html

Be aware that the length is calculated as the sum of the distances along the X, Y, and Z axes. So it is the geometrical distance between panels and not the exact wire length, if you want to do that the only workaround I know is to model really small conduits as wires and by doing that you can know exactly the length of all the wires.

If this helped solve your problem please mark it as solution, so other users can get this solutions as well.

Hello,

From Revit 2018, is possible to control a bit more the circuit path.

Thanks for the answer,

Problem with this system is that I can't control wires when I don't want a serial circuit. If I have a circuit Panel-A-B-1-2, schedule don't give me the length from Panel to A-B-1 and to A-B-2. I don't know if there is a way to take this distance.
