Revit 2018 Loading

Hi,

Does anyone know why my Revit is so slow?

It keeps loading every time i move my mouse.

This is also happening to my other colleague but we are working on different jobs.

Other people in the office seems fine so I don't know what is causing this.

I am running i7-8700 CPU, 16GB Ram and GTX 1060 6GB GPU.

Check the link below, depending on the version of Revit, that the graphics card is certified.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/certified-graphics-hardware

It is recommended not to buy an expensive card just because you can. Some are designed for games and may not work in all Revit applications.

If the used graphics card is not in the list, I recommend that you do a test with the option "Use hardware acceleration" turned off.

There are many possible causes for poor performance. It could even be something outside of Revit or your workstation.

You mention that some people (in your office) do not have the problem. Do they have similar workstations that are on the same network? If so, it could be a network connection issue. Disconnect from the network and work on a model stored on your computer to see if the problem goes away.

Also, until that can be checked, you could try turning off all programs that you are running while using Revit.

I have check with the list for revit 2018(and other version) looks like my GPU isn't supported.

But i don't really see how this is a problem because Revit has been running well until recently.

Hey,

I have disconnected myself from the server and opened my local file.

Now it works fine but how should I fix the issue with it being in the server ?

Then, test it with the Hardware Acceleration Option turned off ...
So you can be sure that this is not the problem.

That does not actually rule out Revit settings but puts us on track for directing the trouble shooting.

Some easy checks before bringing in IT network solutions;

Restart the computer.

Double check that you can recreate the lag in a different, unrelated model on the network.

Try checking the Worksharing update frequency. Set it to the minimum setting.

Make sure all the paths listed under File Locations actually exist.

There are also paths under Check Spelling. Make sure they point to something that exists. (That one is a just a shot in the dark to satisfy my OCD.)

Doesn't help overall.

I have been working on my local file (Disconnected to the server) and it works fine.

The problem returns when i connect to the Server.

The problem still remains for the people who are working with 1 model.

Working on a local file while disconnected from an active model takes careful planning. Contact whoever is managing the Revit model for proper procedures.

Sorry.

I am currently the only one working on the project I am in, So I can afford of it being disconnected from the our server.

More and more people are having this issue. Yesterday it was just me and one of my colleague now there are 4 of us.

The problem is spreading.

I checked with our technicians and they said that our server are all good nothing is wrong with it.
