Adding rows to panel schedules

I can't really find useful help from the autodesk website 'Note: Inserting rows in panel schedule templates is different. Please review the specific tools for panel schedule templates for more information'.

What are the 'specific' tools?

I'm trying to add a couple of extra rows to a Panel schedule but i can't seem to get it right. Is there no easy way to do this?

Where exactly are you trying to add the rows in the schedule? It works a little differently depending on what part of the schedule you're in.

Also: are you editing the panel schedule template, or trying to edit an individual panel schedule?

Just go into the properties for the panel, and change the number of breaker spaces.

If your panel schedule is set up the way most are, it will automatically adjust to match the number of spaces in the panel.

If not (say for example, your panel schedule template is set up to always show 42 spaces), then you will have to edit the panel schedule template, select the option to show the number of spaces that match the panel. Then you will have to reapply the template to the panel schedule.

The empty rows serve as an extra for safety

We want to have the template edited i guess

I read somewhere else i'd need to put in actual extra rows in the panel itself for this to work

If @stever66's response doesn't help / isn't what you need, can you post a screenshot of the schedule you're trying to edit and a description or markup of where you're trying to add the rows?

I'm trying to figure this out for a colleague of mine, i don't know the exact reason why he wants extra empty rows yet.

All i could find so far is to physically add Reserves to the panel to get a row extra that says 'reserve'

If I understand correctly, you're trying to add rows to the circuit table. There are two ways to do that as @stever66 said. I'll provide a bit more detail:

If your panel schedule template's Number of Slots setting is set to Variable, you can change the number of rows in the panel schedule by changing the parameter 'Max # 1 Pole Breakers' on the electrical equipment instnace.
If your panel schedule template's Number of Slots settings is set to Fixed, then you control the number of rows directly by entering the constant value in the panel schedule template.

You get to that setting by going to Manage>Panel Schedule Templates>Manage Templates, then select the template you want and Edit (Pencil Icon). Then click 'Set Template Options' on the left side of the ribbon. The Number of Slots setting is in the General Settings section.

Looks like your panel schedule template was set up only as far as 70 rows as well, that's why the formatting for the Description column goes to centre justify rather than Left justify.

Change the template to have something like 125 ways and setup all the text sizes and justifications then set the number of ways back to variable, it will then look as it should in the future.

You can change what text is displayed when you use a Spare or a Space by changing the setting in Manage > Electrical Settings.

You need to change the properties of the Panel for a parameter called Max Number of 1 Pole Ways or similar. I think this parameter name changed slightly in the 2020 version of Revit.
