topic How to Bind Link/Copy Paste without missing Elements in Revit MEP Forum

Hi,

Does anyone have any way to bind links (MEP) without losing any element and as fast as possible? Whenever I Link and Bind in a blank document many elements are missing especially Tap fittings. I have tested this with multiple projects with the same issue. What I understand is Revit Copy Pastes Elements from one File to another File and I have faced the same issue when copy-pasting between the same file when Copy Paste Aligned to Selected Level/Current View.

Hello @Sujan.Maharjan

Try to export this model as IFC File then Link it again and Bind

Try to make copy monitor to this elements there are more than 5 elements u can Copy/Monitor

Finally try cleaning this file delete annotations and tag let it contain only the model then audit it and purge unused familiy and material to keep it super simple file then try to Bind again i think one of those methods will be acceptable for you, Good luck and i hope to hear from you if any one works well with you.

Best Regards,,

Sujan,

Just a thought, but if the file you're binding the linked file into doesn't have the System definitions and various items in the Routing Preferences setup in it then that might explain the loss of some elements.

I'd suggest opening the linked file and the host file side by side and in the host file, use the Transfer Project Standards tool to import all the system settings, fittings etc. Then do the bind link to see if that fixes it.

Worth a try 😉

I have tried it and the result is similar. The main problem area is Tap connections which keep disappearing.
