How do I align certain text, with reference to a wall, a line, or any other orientation other than horizontal or vertical in Revit 2019? I'm looking for something similar to Autocad's "Rotate text" command. Is there something like this in Revit, without having to click on the grip and manually rotate the text, which takes a lot of work and is often not 100% correct?

marcos.olivetti@gmail.com

The spacebar does not rotate, only parallel or vertical angles to the table
(monitor) plane. For example, I have a text that I want to align to a wall,
or pergola, which is rotated at 12.5 degrees, for example, how do I do that?

Example I want to align the text "Pergola Deck", with the red line, or any
other reference, automatically, as if it were an align?

Hello,

In the tag family you can tick the option Aligned to make the orientation to adjust to the component position.

If the text is a tag, I wonder if a reference plane could be added in the tag. If it had a reference plane, then maybe the align command could be used? That’s much faster than using rotate.

or maybe the text could be made into a family, again, with a reference plane added to get the same result.

Well after a little testing, you can't put reference planes in annotation objects, only reference lines.

And they seem to have somewhat unpredictable results when trying to use with the align command.

The best solution I see is to put the text in a generic annotation family, with one parameter to enter the text. Then add a vertical and a horizontal line in the family. Once placed in the model, these lines can be used with the align command to align the text or tag with an object.

Then create two family types within the family or tag. Add a visibility parameter to turn off the lines after the tag has been aligned.
