Changing duct sizes

Dear all,

I have recieved an IFC containing the MEP services for a project I am working on. However, the project has been adjusted so I would also like to also adjust the dimensions on the MEP model.

I was sent it in IFC format and have been working in the Revit model.

I have encountered problems in doing so.

Firstly, it seems unable for me adjust the duct length from the original model. The duct properties doesn’t have much of an interactable interface.

Secondly, if I try to create a new duct to replace it, then all of the dimensons are in inches, even though my standard units (UN) are metric mm. These are also only set intervals of inhches, and if I convert from mm to inches the dimensions are not what is available.

Would someone be able to suggest how I may be able to solve this?

Either how to adjust the length of the duct I was sent from the original file, or how to create a new duct with the dimensions that I would really like.

Hello,

Whenever you are working with external files, receiving updated models means that they should replace their previous versions.

were you able to solve this issue? I just upgraded from revit '23 to revit '24 and am running into the same issue. I tried transfer project standards from a file that is set up correctly and it's still showing duct sizes in mm & project unit settings are in imperial inches

In manage > project units the opening dialogue box is only for "common" elements:-

To change duct size units you need to use the drop down to select HVAC and change the duct size units:-

For piping select the Piping drop down:-
