Yes, thank you for the information. That was helpful. I think this will work for now. Although, I was hoping for a method that would remap links to the relative paths so we could just click on the Revit and have everything linked up properly, but if it works similar to the way autocad xref paths defaults to the same folder of the main CAD file, that would be enough for the condition where we would have to reprint from the archive set. I can test it out to see if that works when I have time.

Thanks again!

Archive C4R Model w/ ALL Links (Revit, CAD, Shared Parameters, Keynotes, Image)

Is it possible to create an archive copy of a C4R cloud model with all links including Revit, CAD, Shared Parameters, Keynotes, Image, etc.?

I tried to etransmit but the main cloud model doesn't show up when trying to open. I also tried to open the local copy in %AppData%, but that produced errors.

This is a mandatory requirement for us and without a tool to do this, it's quite time consuming to go through all the files and archive them individually on large projects. We have already experienced issues where we had to reprint an archived set and this has presented several challenges.

Edward

If you’re using BIM 360 Document Management for your Revit cloud project, it may be as easy and doing a pick selection of folders or files and hitting “Download”. If you’ve kept the CAD files and images in there too, that download could be a quick archive. Rename the downloaded zip file to reflect the date of the archive:

See also this short video for another simplified approach: Revit-BIM 360 Docs Archiving

If you’re in BIM 360 Team, a similar workflow may work, but you’ll probably need to round up your links from other directories.

Having a combination of good file and folder organization that is conducive to such archiving is probably key as well.

Yes, should behave similar. If you have all the links set to use 'relative path', then as long as you restore them all into the same directory, the link should still get loaded. See Location of the Linked File
