your C4R Revit model is stored on Autodesk servers. You should have 25GB of storage space per user total available for use. The "Local Revit Model" that C4R creates is a set of cached/divided files that are stored locally on your user's computer when interacting with a C4R Revit Model. Depending on how many Revit models your end user's will be working on at one time or another, a standard hard drive capacity of 250GB or higher these days is plenty of enough space to work with a C4R Revit model.

How much free disk space do we need for a C4R medium sized project (700k sf, 20-40 active users)

Thank you for the quick response. Would you know whether we should move to an even larger hard drive if BIM Glue is also in use?

if you are using Glue, then the models are still stored on Autodesk Servers for collaboration. If you are working with Revit worksharing in general, the Local Models are typically stored on the local user's workstations. If they have lots of Revit models they work on simultaneously, then a larger hard drive may be needed.

Each Revit model you make will determine the total size of the file and the total hard drive space needed depends on how many revit models total your end user's work on.

If for example, I have an end user who has 15 Revit projects to work on at any point in time during the year, each model could potentially be 1GB in size which is a sizeable model to work with. That means the workstation needs at least 15GB of space to store that data. If you take into account OS, programs, etc as well as Revit content, a 250GB drive should be fine. Most hard drives in workstations start at 500GB now so again you should be fine.

Lastly, you could just buy a NAS network drive that has say 10-20TB of storage space and route all Local Revit Models to that location so the size of the local workstation hard drive would be irrelevant in regards to Revit model storage.
