Change the Cut Line Pattern, Color, Weight? Override by Element, Category or Filter?

Thanks for the replies, linework tool won’t work, can’t click the profile line. Seems like all the cut profile line tools will only mimic the line style of what they are cutting.

Cut profile kinda falls under detail components however it has no specific category...ie: you cannot really hide/override it by any means BUT you can Overlay it with a detail item/detail line and change its display order (Back/front)

No masking region or other tomfoolery here. Just using the Linework (LW) tool.

Linework does not pick Cut Profile lines...unless you version of Revit is special. In such case you are welcome to demonstrate in a screencast. That will be interesting to watch

You absolutely right @RDAOU; Linework does not pick Cut Profile lines. So, what do you think I did? Remember - the only tool I'm using in the above screenshots is the Linework tool.

And, no; my Revit is not special. Only I am. 😉

OK, I am stumped and I know that is something real straightforward. All I can come up with is drawing a white line over the profile line... please show me your magic.

Hi, Thanks so much, this is great - could you tell me more detail. I openened your file and this seems to work just not sure how you are doing it since cant use linework tool. sorry for the slow processing speed.

By overriding the CUT LINE pattern which I think was previously mentioned reply 3 above ... This could work but can be inconsistent.

See example GIF below

NB: For it to work when used for walls or elements of multi layered structure, all layers falling on the side of the "cut profile" should be inside the core...otherwise, the override will affect the all the common lines on that side. This method would ideal when detailing foundations, retaining walls..etc

I did the same as @RDAOU shows above. While it can be done, I don't think this method is any better than the marked solution or even using white lines as you indicated.

Not sure if @barthbradley was using the same method though. Only he can tell you.

can you explain how i could work this out? The cut profile is taking the linework of a wall cut. and not the lineweight of the plywood wall part. I tried using LW but its not letting me click on the cut profile elements. I think the wall assembly has so many parts that REVIT might not know how to apply the thickness I want it to be and its not picking up the desired lineweight. Am I missing something?
below is the wall profile which in this case I am "extending" the plywood up.

I tried this and all the cut lines became white except the cut profile line. I don't know why people have different results from doing the same procedure.

My particular problem with cut profile lines is that I am using design options to show different wall section detail variations but cut profile lines keep showing in other design option and it is impossible to hide/group/modify them. It's quite annoying.

Any ideas?
