Hello Everyone,

I would like to know how to rotate a split elevation segment in Revit. I saw another thread (Here), and they have responded that it is not possible and we have to make two Sections/Elevations and put them beside each one. I'm not convinced with this method. Is there any other solution?

Best,

Mahan

You can't rotate that. Using two views is a workaround.

Another way of group the rotated portion, paste it in a design option, rotate, and set the elevation to show that design option. It may cause more troubles than its worth.

It is still not possible to rotate a split segment of a section/elevation. When Revit is able to do that it will be able to unwrapp elevations.

The easiest way is still to place 2 sections/elevations and line them up on a sheet

If you have so many of them, then dynamo is anpther option. You can find the graph for that in the Dynamo tutorials

@mitchell_smithJMZYU

I am intrigued... However, this is an elevation, and they used the Section Tag to make it look like one. It is indeed split into two non-parallel segments, but it does not seem to function as such. The elevations of the elements facing the oblique segment still show true dimensions, as if they are parallel to the elevation line, which implies that this is a glitch (or maybe better say more of an exploit similar to that of hiding Reference planes permanently in families when I do not want others to edit/modify/copy their contents)

PS: If it would have been literally rotated the dimension of the walls facing that segment would be no true size, but would look narrower)

The question, though, is how it was created—was it by mistake while using a plugin or API, or was it intentional? I doubt it was the latter because it still behaves like a normal elevation and not one that wraps around corners to show the lateral sides of the building.

I will still look further into how did that happen
