How do I create a window in this hole?

Hi there,

I have created this hole with extrusion. Does anyone know how can I turn this into a glass window with frame?

Since you or someone led you down the path of modeling everything in-place!!! finish it off with in-place modeled elements

Create/Place a non-embedded curtain wall (no mullions, and panel = basic wall Glass material)
Cut the curtain wall with a void (the negative of that you cut the opening with)
Sweep a profile around the edges

How did you create the hole and what exactly is it cutting?

Sounds like you created the hole using an In-Place Modeled Void Extrusion and then used Cut Geometry tool to cut the Solid host (Wall by Face?) with the intersecting Void geometry. If so, edit the In-Place Family that contains the Void and add to it the Solid Geometry (i.e. Extrusions, Sweeps, etc.) representing the Window Glass and Frame. Assign a Project material to these solid geometries through their "Material" Parameters, and then Finish and Close out of the In-Place Modeling Session. Voila! A Window and Frame.

You have already done it. That is, you already created the In-Place Family that made the hole; right? If so, just Edit the same family and add the Solid Geometry to it.

Huh? Use the Pick Lines tool when sketching the Profiles for the Solid Geometry.

Can you just post your RVT?

As you could see from above pictures, the solid geometry does not fit into the hole nicely

Hi, I was not able to attach revit file here. The file is too big. My building is a curved shape. I just need help with create windows and door on curved walls please.

If you cannot create a sweep for some reason, then take a look at the attached Revit file and screencast.

You don't need to post the entire thing. Just select the elements we're talking about (e.g. Wall, holes, etc.) and Group them. Then go to the Project Browser, right-click on the Model Group you just created and press "Save As" in the drop-down. Then follow the prompts to save a copy of the Group to a separate RVT. You can post that "Group" RVT here as an Attachment. After doing the "Save-As", you can ungroup the group in your Project.
