Hello,

Need some help on this one.

We have 2 different types of bathrooms in a project. Both were created as nested families so we could repeat in our model and quickly schedule the information. However, all elements in that nested families have the Shared ticked on one of the elements that is the toilet will show on the schedule of bathroom type one but not on the schedule of bathroom type 2.

I have searched for an answer but so far no luck with it.

Anyone has have a similar issue and how has been solved?

many thanks Claudia

unfortunately, I can't share the families here as they are too big.

let me try to breakdown this way

we have Bathroom 1(B1-I) and Bathroom 2 (B4-I).

Both use the same exactly families inside

all families have shared as well as the nested families.

bathroom 1 schedules all elements inside it

bathroom 2 does not schedule the toilet and the door hook. and they are the same elements!

image 01 attached I have highlighted the elements

image 2 is for the schedule showing the difference. I have highlighted the elements that are missing in the B4-I toilet.

the schedule is the same so they should be showing fine.

By experience I would not do that as a nested family either but, it was the route they decided to follow and is too late to start fresh again. I just need a solution for it.

hope that is more clear.

many thanks in advance 🙂

I wish you were right but it was the first thing I checked. and the family B4-I is shared. 😞

I just purge the families so you will be able to have a look at it.

find attached 🙂

Thanks

C

@claudiakopietz

It is affected depending where the ORIGIN of the fixture falls with respect to the Room Boundary...when the room calculation point is disabled, the fixture gets scheduled into the adjacent room if the origin falls outside the room. therefore, when you enable the room calculation then you kinda force the fixture to schedule in a specific view when its origin falls at the border

Since the fixtures you used are shared, you need to set the room Calculation point for each to ensure they all get scheduled in the right room. See the following link for more info about the room calculation point and how to adjust it.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU/Revit-Model/files/GUID-7CA9496D-205E-4838-A669-37C1DA7DEB67-htm.html

See how yours schedule in room 2 and 3? although they are in B4-I
