Sounds like a CAD workflow. Why don't you try a BIM workflow? That is, 3D Model the whole construct and then create different Views of the one Model.

Thanks for your fast answer!

Maybe I didn't explain me quite clear. I'm going to have a 3D model into a RVT file. This RVT will contain sheets. this will allow me to control, the content, the families, titleblocks,...in a unique file. But, the workflow of deliveries forces me to deliver a unique RVT per drawing.
Let's make a simple example: I will model a building with 5floors high (building.RVT) . I will then creatre a sheet drawing per floor (ground floor, first floor, second floor,... ) in this RVT file.
What I need is to create to continue are new RVT files as per sheet drawing, so that means like a litteral copy of the original file (building.RVT) but including only a sheet drawing. So the "building.rvt" should be exported into "ground_floor.rvt", "first_floor.rvt",...."roof_floor.rvt". (those new files will contain the whole 3D model original building, but a unique sheet drawing)

Your example doesn't explain at all why you think you need different Revit models.

The building (or even multiple buildings) can be one model and you can create views and sheets as you like. You can use different title blocks if for 5th floor you need 11x17, and 24x36 for first floor. You can have a thousand sheets in a Revit file if you want.

The Revit file is a 3D model. The views are just "slices" of what you choose to show plus any annotations. A given model could be 1 or 10,000 views...

Edit: sounds like a manager or client who never ever used BIM came up with this idea or requirement.

Are you positive that this is the deliverables requirement per your contract?

Even US gov projects tend towards using the VA Bim & CAD Standards which, while they require individual CAD files per sheet regardless of parent program, do not require individual Revit files.

I have never once seen sheet-specific revit files mandated. What benefit does that even provide the end-user? The file size is still largely based on modelled elements, and by your clarifications none of that is getting purged.... you'd be submitting multiple full-size copies of your parent project file.

Thank you for all your comments. Firstly I would like you to know that I'm aware of how REVIT works and the strategy that has to be used for modeling and delivering and I kwnow what what has been asked is completly insane :). But the workflow aproved by the Client related to deliveries is this.
The problem here is that Clients are asking for something that maybe works in a ACAD workflow and they really don't know that BIM is completly different.

What I'm going to do is create all the drawings from a unique RVT file, and then duplicate the RVT as many times as drawings modifying the name for all of them.

You HAVE to educate the client on this. Tell them how ludicrous this is. The time you'll take talking to them will be a fraction of the time you have to use doing all of this insane work.

And if this is in the contract documents you have with the client, shame on whoever signed those contracts in your firm.

The reason you're seeing such a blunt reaction here is because this is absolutely insane, and I have a feeling you're going to keep seeing that response every time you come back and say "yea but that's what the client wants".

I've just tryied to be clear. Knowing that this is an insane workflow I was just asking for an idea or a different point of view. Asking if someone has face up the same or similar problem is why I've come here.
I'm trying to do the job with a "bad hand" and this is what I have by the time. Coming back here with just an "yeah but that's what the client wants" it's not helpful for me and neither for the forum.
So, ones again, thank you for all your answers and support but answering @mhiserZFHXS, noone has come with a real proposal letting me response with a "yeah but that's what the client wants".
By the other hand I'm trying to elevate this issue trying to modify the workflow that has been signed by people that obviously don't know anything about REVIT and BIM.

Thanks you all for your time

Personally, I still don't know what the deliverable is. You haven't provided a clear explanation of what the client wants. When all the dust settles, what does the client have in hand?

The Client wants the IFC of the model, the Sheets in pdf and REVIT file containing the drawing. more or less this is my strategy at the end:

- We generate a single REVIT 3D model (3D Model.RVT) in which we generate as many drawings as necessary. From here we make the pdf's and they go straight to delivery.
- To deliver the RVTs, we make a duplicate of the original REVIT model and upload it to the delivery with the name and metadata relevant to your drawing. We do this as many times as sheets we have. At the end we would have "X" REVITs with the same content but with different name and metadata.
- If the delivery rejects any PDF (and its associated RVT), we would generate a new version (P01.2) to make changes and we would print the PDF again from that new version.

All the new RVT files will contain all "unuseless" drawings except the one that we are refering to but I can generate a rutine to clean all of them.

The Client it seams that is still with in a ACAD way of thinking. Instead of having the DWG of the drawings the client requires de native RVT file related to the drawing

Anything else in these Views that are placed on the Sheets? Like dims, annos, section marks referencing other views on other sheets, etc.

...wait a minute. Are the Sheets just containing one 3D Model View? That's what it looks like in your exhibit above. If so, Isometric or Perspective? What's the viewing angle? Are you going to create multiple 3D Views showing the model from different angles?

There is nothing in that language suggesting one Revit file for each drawing. It sounds like they want a Revit model with all the Sheets and Views intact. Maybe you just misunderstand the deliverable requirements.
