Is there an easy way to calculate area of an entire floor, only the rooms and not the walls?

Like the title says... is there an easy way to calculate the area of an entire floor without using a calculator? I have drawn up a floor plan and one of many things the client is asking for is a floor plan overview as to what type of floor each room has, to give to the cleaning crew. So that means I only need to know the area of each room, not including the interior or exterior walls. It's a big building so it would be quite time consuming using the area tool with setting up boundries etc. So yeah... I know it's probably a very easy answer to this, but I'm new to working with schedules and area plans and all that so I'm asking 🙂

If you are done placing the walls, doors, separators, floor and all bounding elements...etc,

Go to Architecture tab >> Rooms & Areas
- place rooms
- rename if needed
- Assign a color scheme (optional)
Once all rooms are placed,
- Go to the View tab >> Create >> Schedules >> Quantity Schedule
- Create a room schedule (scroll down and select room category from the list)
- Add the fields (Name, Number, Area ...etc)
- Under formatting, format Area to calculate totals
- Under Sorting check the box for Grand Total (and pick a format)

Thank you! Not all rooms are to be included in the total, but it's much easier to exclude the few instead of calculating the many.

You should be easily able to filter the ones you do not need out from the schedule.
