Hello everyone,
I'm trying to create a schedule to track some types so I need -for example- to create a schedule for doors so this schedule show all door types -even the types that have no instances in the model to be shown and the count will be 0- so is it possible to do some work around to achieve this goal ?!

You cant schedule something that hasn't been placed in the model. That said... Why do you want to schedule something that isn't there?

Interesting question. Hard to wrap my brain around it though.

Sounds like you have an allotted number of doors that the Project can use, and you want to a schedule to track how many doors are placed and how many are left to place? Is that about the size of it? I don't know how else to read it.

Fine. Create them in a separate model, link, and create your schedule to include linked elements.

All these solutions will work, but the original issue was to show them as a count of 0 in the schedule (to show there not being used). How would you place them, in a link or phase, and still show the count for each type as 0?

I didn’t provide a solution, but maybe re-Phasing is the way to go.

There are x number of doors delivered to the job site in a pre-Construction Phase. Since they don’t yet exist in future Construction Phases, their Phase Demolished is set to the subsequent Phase. Doors are then removed from this pile and placed in future Construction Phases. The act of removing a door from the pile is done by changing the door’s Phasing. That’s all trackable through a schedule.

?

Home Depot has a pretty liberal return policy. That's where I'd go to purchase the doors, just in case some are left over. 🙂

were in the middle of remodeling our house (yes i drew it in Revit first), and your correct, Home Depot does have a better return policy LOL....

Even in a future phase though, it would either not be in the schedule, or show as a count of 1, wouldn't it?

That can be done with a simple formula. Or just sort by phase (if placeholders are placed in a mock-up phase), or by link name (if placeholders are placed in a link).
