Is there a way to apply a void only in a specific level of detail?

I mean is there a correct syntax to add to a formula so my void automatically is checked only in fine (or in whatever I want) level of detail?

The way shown in the image above doesn't work, but it's what I want to do.

I know that I can duplicate the geometry and apply void in one of the two similar, but I am thinking if I can do it without increasing the family size to much.

Thanks in advanced

select the void and pick Visibility settings.

You can associate a void with a parameter, but not a Detail Level (coarse, medium, fine). What you show can certainly be done, though.

Again, that's not possible. But you could create Detail-Level specific geometry. That's done all the time.

@ar00302 wrote:

what I ask is if is there a way the cut automatically be checked when the level of detail is fine.

In your example when the level of detail is coarse or medium the cut parameter will not be checked and the result will be the cube.

When I change to fine detail, the cut will automatically be checked and the result will be the cube with the holes.

Thanks

I have made it abundantly clear that it cannot be done with detail levels.

If you insist then the only way is to have multiple elements, the one without voids to show in one detail level, the one with voids to show in another detail level. But you already knew it.

However, you can share a base component among different families, then cut it one family and not the other, nest the families in your main family and assign them to different detail levels. This is so when you need to make a change, you just need to change the base component once.
