&lt;P&gt;You are on 2019.&amp;nbsp; This method doesn't work in 2019.&amp;nbsp; It works in 2022, not sure about 2020 or 2021.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;For 2019, load SAT in a family, paint surfaces with materials or material parameters, then load it in project and you can change their materials.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P class="lia-align-left"&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am importing a SAT file to Revit (Insert-&amp;gt;Import CAD) as 'Generic Models' category.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How can I define the Material of this imported SAT Generic Model?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any help is welcomed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class="lia-align-left"&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;No issues here.&amp;nbsp; Maybe you already created parts, just change view to show parts.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Yes.&amp;nbsp; See edited post.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Also, if your SAT is too complex to paint, then consider using DWG instead of SAT so that you can assign materials to layers via Objects Styles &amp;gt; Import categories.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
