Getting more into Revit, in which everything is adjustable, I am having difficulties to set up a good, solid and most of all understandable, workmethod. I start the work in 3d, switch back and forward between 2d/3d views, temp. hide objcts, create different solutions in one file, add help-lines, underlaying dwg's, ecc. Ending up with complex file. To organise all you can use filters, different named floorlayouts and sections. You can rearrange the project browser, ecc.

So I need to define a solid workmethod. Where can i find robust examples that revit experts use ?

Classes that are available in your area or online are a good source for the fundamentals.

A good template is the best way to start.

In our template we already have several floor plan sets created.

A WORK set where nothing is hidden
Building permit set with the correct view template.
Area plans with view templates.

As we model our plans are created, we only need to spend time on annotating.

Depending on your type of projects, you could prepare even more plan sets.

Check out this book as it walks you through a whole project. What you need in a template will become clear once you design. This will depend on what your firm usually does, what documents you usually need to provide.

If you already have an AutoCAD workflow, don't just implement that. Really clean up and update your design workflow to what is actually needed. Many beginners will be frustrated because they can't use Revit exactly like AutoCAD. Revit isn't drafting, it is Building Information Modeling.

You say you start in 3D..... I unusually start a project in a Floor view, then ceiling and sections. 3D initially is more for looking.

Get huge monitors and use multiple views. It is nice to see in 3D what changes while you do stuff in a floor view.

This sounds good and I am working to setup something similar. But what is a clever set setup ?

For example. I am now trying the use of different sets of floorplans with forced filters: ..work..survey..existing...project...demolition

But maybe it's better to organise things in another way....leave out the different sets of floorplans but use only view models...of filter sets....ecc. I assume I have to find this out myself, but was hoping on a good hint for a jump start.
