Revit Window with angle

Hello

I need help with angles in a window.

So i need to do a window in a Z shape, the problem is that the window as mullions between each glass panel and they won't rotate to the right angle when i change the dimensions of the windows.

Any idea of how i can solve this?

I suggest using a curtain wall for the layout and infill panels with simpler curtain window family type(s).

So this part of the window changes it's angle when i change the dimension in any of the other zones.

The problem is that when the angles change these two mullions and the glasses don't follow the changes and break the constrains

That was my fist idea but it's for a client and with the curtain wall the details don't show as they should in a section

Which parts? Obviously you would need to use custom mullion profiles, or nest detail components in the mullion profiles for details.

I would need to use 5 vertical mullions, all different from each other.

And in the horizontal i would need 2, the problem is that this system uses a dain, and it needs to be on and off.

So the curtain wall is not the best for a client to use.

Ok so i changed the family

Right now i want to find a way to lock the middle (the angled part) and make the rest move.

So if the i change the dimension in the middle i want the leaf dimension 02 to resize it self so that the the other only grows in that direction without changing the angle

That what i thought...

An other solution that came to me was, make 3 window families and lock them in the positions... would it work?

If you want to model it as a family then definitely using nested family(s) for the 3 windows.

But if I were you, I would still be using curtain wall:

- create a curtain wall type with no permanent mullion and panel assigned

- draw it as needed on plan

- add curtain grids where the window jambs are

- replace panels with curtain windows

- model the frame in place

I'm having a hard time imagining that

If i have 5 leafs when i change the dimension of the pane it will probably change the amount of leafs instead of keeping the ratio.

What i need is a way to lock the window that as the angle so that it follows the changes and the dimensions inputed

You need more leaves then add more grids. You just proved that using curtain walls is much more flexible.

It is, the problem is that i won't be next to the client when he adds it to the project.

If he changes the dimensions and the grids change, he won't be able to solve it, that's the reason i'm trying to find a solution where it won't happen

Hello again

So i'mout of ideas again

I made to parameters to control the family, they work with the angle and lock the lf02 to work and a train in it's tracks.

The problem is that I can't lock them. so every time i give the dimension it grows, but it won't stay in the right place.

Any idea?

Solved the problem using nested families

Dunno if was the best option but was the one working.

I know, i followed your solution, but when I was trying to use them as nested i had troubles locking them in place.

That's the reason I said I didn't knew if it was the best solution but was done.

I apologize if it sounded like something else.

Best is relative. What best for others may not be best for you or me.
