Door family with different jambs profile frames.

I need to model a door that has a different profile in the left side thatn the one in the right side. I this possible?

Yes just edit the door family, change the Jamb on either side, to what you need

Sorry but I cant, try to edit that profile but not successfull I am no allowed to do that.

If you edit the family you should be able to edit the jamb in the ref level plan view

It is not yet finish, but the frame on left should has half with, same profile but half widht because I have another door attached in the other side.

Ok you had a sweep, if it was an extrusion it would have been easier to change.

I have changed the sweep and added vertical extrusion (for both sides) and a horizontal extrusion at the top to create the same shape. You can now edit the vertical extrusion on the left to suit what you need.

One last question, when maked like extrusion then the joint between jamb and header it is not mittered. Is there a solution for this?

Well as usual the most important last question of mitering the extrusions together was left out....I know Revit has ways to morph from one profile to another...

Time to call in the IT department...

Depends on profiles, you can use Join Geometry in some cases or use voids to manually miter the solids with more complex profiles.

Thanks Revit Brother! I really have no handle on creating these complex frames. The Detention Door Frame has three frame type profiles that just don't want to play nice with each other. Can't seem to align the profile axis to a reference line that allows the profile to flex with the width of the frame.

Perhaps I should switch to an extrusion instead. I thought Revit was supposed to make my life easier...LOL

I was finally able to get the jambs to flex be adding reference lines and creating new profiles based off the reference lines.

Flexes from 3'-0" to 2'-6" width rise.

Now to figure out how to get the head profile to flex along with the rest of the frame...
