Schedule Conditional Format returning unexpected 0

Hello,

I have a schedule of occupant loads that calculated occupant load via formula (Area / Occupant Load Factor). All is well here.

I've set up an Occupant Override parameter (number). I'm trying to create a calculated parameter in the schedule that returns either the original Occupant Load, OR the Occupancy Override if a value is present in the Occupant Override field.

My formula unfortunately returns all zeros, rather than the calculated Occupant Load. What am I missing in my formula?

Actual Occupant formula: if((Occupancy Override = 0), (Area / OLF / 1 SF), Occupancy Override)

I've also tried the formula below, but it returns the same result:

if((Occupancy Override = 0), Occupant Load, Occupancy Override)

Two things to check

Values: Could it be that both Occupant Load and Occupancy Override are BOTH zero or either of them is null?
Field Formating: if the Decimals = 0 and the result/calculated value is anything between 0 and 0.99, the schedule will show 0

Did you assign 0 to all rooms? They might all be null by default, which isn't the same as 0.

I was fearing this was the case. If I assign a value of zero, it seems to correct the issue. The downside is this is a tedious process for a live model to have to ensure every new room gets a value 0 input. Is there a way to create a "IsEmpty" type condition rather than a "greater than" condition? I'd like this schedule to provide live reliable data, rather than requiring tedious upkeep.

Unfortunately no.

You could select all rooms in the project just by right clicking, and assign 0 to all of them. Or, if you've already assigned some overrides, it might be better to create a working schedule just for this. The only required field would be the override parameter, but you could include room names or whatever you want. Sort by the override filter, and uncheck "itemize every instance". This will group all of the null values together. Select the field and type in your 0.

Its not completely automatic, but its an easy thing to check and update whenever you deem necessary.

This is more or less what I ended up creating. Key value parameters linked to another parameter (in this case, Occupany) also helped speed up the process of manually assigning 0s.

Formula for Actual Occupancy: if((OLF = 0), 0, Occupant Load)
