Project shared parameters added to revit families

Hi all,

First time I am receiving a request to incorporate project parameters into a family. And I am not sure what is expected here and why..

So I received the bellow shared project parameters (image) to add to Revit families.
Do you know if I am supposed to add all of those as individual shared parameters to the Revit family (obs.: the list is immense, more than 100 parameters)? And what is the purpose of that?

Hi,

You can see about the purpose of shared parameters here: https://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2022/ENU/?guid=GUID-AEBA08ED-BDF1-4E59-825A-BF9E4A871CF5.

You have to add all the parameters that you want to use in tags and in schedules. The parameters that you want to use in schedules you can also add them directly in project.

You can manage Revit parameters inside the project and families with diroots plugin paramanager

Most probably not all...I would say they expect you to use the applicable one but using this shared parameters .txt file in order to maintain the same GUID.

While parameters are case sensitive, they might still end up with duplicate parameters with the same name/case if such parameters has different GUIDs (ie: you randomly recreating them from your end). Hence, they have forwarded you their .txt and expect you to use it when such shared parameters are required.

Hi @RDAOU ,

I didn't know what to expect as an answer, but that makes total sense. They have previously mentioned that there was a couple of duplicated parameters in my Revit families, and I was preparing myself to delete them. Now, I will just replace them with the corresponding parameter in their file.
