I am having a small problem in revit, well not really a problem but I don't know the steps to fellow in order to achieve the results am looking for.

I am currently working a townhouse development project. I has seven units. The apparch that I decided to take was to module all the units in separate revit files then linked these unit files to a revit file with the site plan.

After linking the Unit files to the site file, I wanted the change the view of the linked unit in the site plan; I used the visibility setting to apply a view template (from the unit files) to the linked unit files.

The issue am having is as follows, the site plan is to be printed at a scale of 1:200, while the units are to be printed at a scale of 1:50 (On the site plan).

How can I change the scale of the site plan (the host revit file) to 1:200 and keep the scale of the linked file (Unit modules) at 1:50. While printing them on the same sheet.

Thank you for your understanding and time.

Yours sincerely,

G. Whyte

Hi,

They share the scale of the host model. Are you having issues with the modules showing tags etc that are overlapping the module? Can you add some screenshots for better understanding?

Hi,

Thanks for the screenshots. I think the best way is to make a Floor Plan in each of the linked files with a 1:200 Scale. Then fit the annotations there. In the Site Plan model go to Visibility/Graphic Overrides > Revit Links > Change it to By linked view (the one you created in each of the linked files).

Both your building models and site model should be DRAWN at full scale 1:1. Then you can create views at different scale for different purposes ( floor plan, site plan, etc ...).
