Thanks for the response!

It actually does work once text data type is selected. It just does not appear under the required ifc propery set which is "Pset_Warranty".

And to export the property, export settings need to be tweaked. Selecting only the " IFC common property sets" (see image) does not export the parameter even though it is an ifc attribute, because the data type does not match with ifc attribute type. Schedules or defined property sets should be set up or basically all revit property sets should also need to be exported for it to work.

And it seems like "ifcdate" is not the only parameter type missing in Revit. I really hope Revit data types more alings with the ifc and exports would be more straightforward.

Always open for other solutions. and suggestions!

IFC export with the ifc4 "date" data type

Want to export ifc from Revit 2020 with ifc4 schema. There is an ifc parameter "WarrentyEndDate" which is supposed to show up under Pset_Warranty property set and the data type of the parameter is "ifcdate".

Because there is no "date" data type in Revit, I assinged a text format to the parameter. however it is not recognized once exported. It requires to be in "date" type. Seeking for suggestions for all "date" type parameters exported to ifc4. Example below:

Amazingly, we still don't have a "Date" parameter already. The only viable workaround that seems to work until date for some people in Revit is to create a data type "text" parameter and enter the dates as numbers in the format YYYY-MM-DD. It will be also able to sort and filter based on 'date', i.g.: WarrantyEndDate is Greater than or equal to YYYY-MM-DD.
Will it work if exported to IFC? Try and lets us know.
